Bible School: Hebrews 6: 13-15 (Waiting on God)

Hey Luvs,

I pray you are all in good health and are prospering just like God wished us to be!

Today we will look at these three particular verses. It reads (NIV version) :

"When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for Him to swear by He swore by Himself, saying I will surely bless you and give you many descendants. And so after waiting patiently Abraham recieved what was promised".

Often we ask God for something and as our human  nature will have it, we expect it there and then. We want it immediatley and feel that the waiting process it too hard I have been there MANY times. You see God works in His own time and He knows the best time to provide what we ask for. At times He may provide it instantly and others there may be a specified time.

The verse is saying that God Gave Abraham a promise and swore by Himself because there was no one greater to swear by. When we look at this a lot of the time our human minds find it difficult to believe a promise that God has given us. We doubt Him, but by Him being the greatest and swearing by the Greatest of Great how can the promise not be fulfilled ?

For the fact that God swore by God: the Divine and Supreme Being who has dominion over EVERYTHING and He is the Creator was enough to show Abraham that He was more than capable of bringing it to pass! The Alpha and Omega, The Great I Am swore by Himself to bring it to pass...what a promise. The clue is in the phrase "no one Greater". When God gives a promise and swears by Himself there is no way it will not manifest as there is no one else that He can possibly use as an oath to fulfill His word! But if there was He would! His word must be fulfilled at ALL COSTS!

Then we look at verse 15. "And so after waiting patiently Abraham recieved his blessings". Bible did not say after he waited or recieved them instantly. He PATIENTLY waited on God. Meaning that he believed without becoming annoyed or anxious. He remained tolerant, tranquil, calm and composed until God fulfilled His Promise.

Patience is both in character and deed. As you see above he had to exercise the above in order not to drive himself crazy until God brought it to pass. If he chose to be impatient he would have killed  his destiny and those of others. It is a vital fruit of the spirit children of God MUST have.

There is a blessing in waiting and patience. If Abraham decided that he was not going to patient with God he would have check-mated himself out of his own blessings. He would have not gotton to the place he was supposed to be in if he was not tolerant and hopeful in his God. Those that know thier God shall be strong and do great exploits!

God wants to bring His Children to a place where they are confident in Him and His ability. We can access so many blessings by doing so. We need to have that solid foundation of believing Him for absolutely anything. Though it looks like it may tarry He shall surely bring it to pass! The blessings of God maketh rich and He adds no sorrow with it.

Let us emulate Abraham's character and learn to patiently wait on God. In due season if we faint not we will reap!

I pray you have been blessed by this teaching.

Remain blessed and highly favoured

All things pink and pretty x
